Training for confident, consistent use
The 3di is supplied through clinician training. The course explains the 3di’s dimensional approach to autism, gives you hands-on practice with the interview, and shows you how to interpret and edit the reports.
What the course covers
The 3di and autism
How the 3di measures autistic features on a dimensional scale of severity, the evidence on its reliability, and how it has adapted to changing diagnostic criteria, including DSM-5.
Preparing for the interview
The parent and teacher pre-entry packs: questionnaires that gather information before the interview.
Using the software
Starting an interview, answering each type of question, moving around the interview, adding notes, and choosing the route for a particular assessment.
Hands-on practice
Rating a recorded parent interview with the extended autism assessment, working through the brief assessment, and discussing your ratings and how best to deliver the interview.
Interpreting the reports
Generating the report for each assessment, reading its scores and key tables, editing it, and comparing the brief and extended assessments.
After the course
The 3di’s coverage of co-occurring conditions, where to get help once you’re using it, and your certificate of attendance.
